If I were a fruit

If I were a fruit, I would be a Pong Pong, as Pong Pongs are poisonous and therefore people and animals would not eat me. I would also be a bane berry or a red nightshade. They are both very dangerous and poisonous and can make people fall very ill, thus I am protected from being eaten.

The quote

I guess the quote means that education isn't always the most important thing. If you're a smart kid with awful manners, then it means that you opened the door to education, shut the door to good manners, and no other doors will open for you in life. So, in other words, good manners are more important than a good education!

P.S. I got the "shut one door and no other doors will open up" phrase from the song "Over You" by Daughtry. See, music is useful!!!

The NE show

Ok, despite getting smacked in the face by Samuel's poncho and getting soaked by the horrible rain, the NDP parade was really fun! I liked the show overall and JY, Vanessa, Nicole, Wei Qin, Gracia, Myra, Sonia and I had a lot of fun laughing at something we weren't supposed to laugh at (oops I think the teachers saw us laughing). It was a totally new experience for me. The rain came so suddenly I thought it was fake. Then it continued pouring and pouring and we all got TOTALLY soaked to the skin! It almost flooded and every inch of me was drenched.

My reflection

As a female, I would not want to live in ancient Greece. Women and girls back them had no say in anything and were unimportant to the government. While boys were getting education and men were acting in theatre and doing important things, the women just stayed at home to do chores. It would be boring as a woman or girl back then and I think it's unfair that they had no right or say to get involved in anything important.

Holiday Post: the zoo

On the 26th of June, my aunt, my cousin and I went to the zoo. We arrived there at about 9.30 am and we went to see the polar bear exhibit, just in time to catch their feeding time. After that, we went to the Splash Safari Show. There were many cute penguins as well as fat manatees. But the highlight of the show was a smart sea lion called Phillip, who was trained to do many tricks to impress the crowd. After lunch, we went to the play area. It was really fun! Before going home, I had some ice-cream. The zoo was a blast!

Holiday post: R.I.P

Michael Jackson's death was so shocking and saddening. The more I think about it, the more sad I get. The news hasn't sunk in yet. It's just so tragic. He was an iconic legend. He was a child prodigy and was singing since the age of 5. He had no singing or dancing lessons and yet his voice and dancing was amazing. All the fans around the world are mourning for him. Words fail me. He was someone whose talent could not be matched. He was an amazing person and his music will live on forever.

R.I.P Michael Jackson, you will be remembered and missed.
